| The site plan will drive the development of the UM Life Science & Technology Park and enable the vision to reach its full potential by attracting a diverse group of biotech and life science companies. The park will incorporate a 24/7 Green “U” mixed-use approach focusing on the following elements: |
- Facilities to accommodate companies and institutes engaged in life science research and development (with wet and dry laboratories) - from locally grown start-ups to global entities from around the country or internationally.
- Facilities to accommodate healthcare organizations, including healthcare non-profits, private healthcare, or medical services companies interested in locating in Miami
- Mixed-use facilities that will accommodate services and support retail space
- Sufficient on-site parking to support the above functions with the medical campus
- Shuttle and tram access with connections to the Metrorail and public buses
- Card key security
- Public open space and amenities that meet the future needs of an urban research and business park as a center for technology development
- Environmentally friendly building design and operation in accordance with the United States Green Building Council Green Building standards
